The finance society at Erasmus

Academy & Investments runs everything ESF teaches and everything it researches. The committee owns the education programme and administers the five Desks, so it is the bridge between learning and live work.

• Runs the workshop programme: financial modelling, valuation, the Bloomberg Terminal and Python for finance, taught by people who use them for a living.
• Administers the five research Desks and their calendars.
• Will run the investment simulator league, coming soon.
• Publishes the Academy curriculum and coordinates Desk output.

External Relations owns every relationship ESF has outside the university: sponsors, partner firms and the wider finance industry.

• Builds and manages sponsor and partner relationships.
• Negotiates partnerships that fund the society and open doors for members.
• Brings partner firms into events, case competitions and consulting projects.
• Represents ESF to the industry.

Marketing owns how ESF looks and sounds, and makes sure every event reaches the right students.

• Runs the ESF brand across content, socials and campaigns.
• Produces the visual identity and content for events and recruitment.
• Grows the society audience and reports on reach.
• Gets every event in front of the students who should be there.

Events puts ESF in the same room as the people who do the hiring. The committee plans and runs the full calendar across the academic year.

• Company visits, speaker nights and case competitions with real firms in finance and consulting.
• Around a dozen events planned across the academic year.
• Works directly with partner firms to shape each session.
• Runs the annual case competition end to end.

Software Engineering builds and maintains everything ESF runs on, and is responsible for hosting the infrastructure used by the research Desks.

• Builds and maintains the ESF platform and the member portal.
• Hosts and maintains the infrastructure used by the research Desks.
• Builds the investment simulator and the internal tools the society runs on.
• Owns deployments, data and reliability.

• Covers selected listed companies through research reports and earnings analysis.
• Produces company and sector research across major industries.
• Provides investment recommendations to the Portfolio Management Desk.

• Researches government and corporate bonds.
• Analyses credit quality, interest-rate markets and credit spreads.
• Provides fixed-income investment ideas to the Portfolio Management Desk.

• Analyses global economic trends and financial markets.
• Produces macroeconomic research, market outlooks and the ESF House View.
• Provides asset-allocation ideas to support Portfolio Management.

• Manages the ESF Model Portfolio using research produced by the other desks.
• Makes portfolio-allocation decisions, monitors performance and manages risk.
• Maintains portfolio operations and publishes performance reports.

• Delivers consulting engagements for startups, SMEs, non-profit organisations and partner firms.
• Provides practical financial and strategic solutions through structured client projects.
• Operates as two case teams, each with 1 Senior Consultant and 3 Consultants, while the Desk Director and Deputy Desk Director work across both.

Committees run the society. The Desks produce the research and client work, and are administered by the Academy & Investments Committee.
